That said, one of my favourite things to play with is ink viscosity. This was born out of necessity as my letterpress printing practice needs very particular ink properties. Initially, I was in a hot dry studio, then I moved to a cold damp studio. The ink needed special treatment for both cases. I'll talk a little about this experience and how I had to modify my inks to suit. You'll get enough information to start experimenting, but if you're hoping for the perfect recipe that will work every time, I cannot promise this because I've come to learn the perfect recipe doesn't exist. Up for a little experimentation?? Join us!

Will I need special printing equipment, such as a printing press?

Nope! I will be covering oil-based ink fundamentals, and options for thickened water-based inks. I'll be sure to include a recipe that will give acceptable results with potato prints. So, if you're not a printmaker with your own tools, you should be able to make rustic patterns with a potato and a knife.

Do I need prior experience?

No. The series is designed for makers at every stage.

What's included with each session?

The live session, its recording, and PDFs of the slides and notes as a digital handout. These will be emailed to you. It will be your responsibility to download them, and save them to your computer.

How much does it cost?

£20 for the complete seven-session series.
