His writing is of-the-time and utterly charming and entirely useful today. Our copy of his guide to Dartmoor (Crossing's Guide to Dartmoor) is very well thumbed and has been used to plan several of our now-favourite routes across the moor.

The oak galls for the botanical ink were all collected on Dartmoor. The text was handset from wood and metal type. The printing was completed in our Princetown studio on our Soldans cylinder proofing press -- the largest known hand-powered proofing press of its kind remaining in the UK.

Part of the Oak: First Gathering collection.

This work has sold.
